Sensors underpin the value of wearable technology. As existing hardware capabilities mature, sensor innovation provides new capabilities across consumer and medical markets.  Advances in optical sensing techniques, chemical sensor manufacturing, and flexible conductors can monitor biometrics previously beyond the scope of wearable devices. These include blood pressure, hydration, core-body temperature, and more. Furthermore, wearable sensor technologies can target emerging applications such as remote patient monitoring, prosumers, and augmented reality. This talk will draw on over a decade of covering the wearable technology market to provide a clear picture of the market for wearable sensors both now and in the future. We will outline the most innovative sensing capabilities, assess associated market opportunities, identify remaining technology gaps, and forecast adoption timelines.
